About Me

Who am I?

Hi! My name is Kylie and I use she/her pronouns. I am a white, bisexual, cisgender woman living in a larger body. I have lived experience of neurodivergence, food/body healing, and chronic pain. I spend most of my time outside of my role as a therapist at the movie theater (movies and tv are my special interests), trying new restaurants with my husband, and cuddling with my two cats (see photo below).

Who I see

I see teens (ages 12+) and adults who are exploring their gender and/or sexual identity, navigating their neurodivergence, experiencing life transitions, and who are struggling with body image concerns and eating disorders. I specialize in providing affirming care to the neuroqueer community and I have a special interest in working with folks with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).

My Approach

I am a person-centered, relational, and social justice oriented therapist. This means the most important thing to me is building safety and comfortability in our therapeutic relationship. I'll likely talk about the things happening in the world and how they might be impacting your experiences. I am also Health At Every Size (HAES) aligned, anti-diet culture, and neuroqueer affirming. My hope is for clients to gain insight about themselves by exploring how their lived experiences in relationships and broader social systems have impacted their mental and physical health, and feel empowered to move away from behaviors and dynamics that no longer serve them. In your therapy with me, I will offer warmth, insight, and humor to promote healing and help you to meet your goals.

What about ARFID?

For clients with ARFID, I utilize the Neurodiversity Affirming Model ®. You can learn more about the Neurodiversity Affirming Model ® here. I help clients with ARFID to create safety around food/eating and meet their nutritional needs with safe foods and accommodations. I also help clients process any negative beliefs, harmful experiences, and/or internalized ableism related to having ARFID.
